Assessment 227: reading the shared-target frontier

12 October 2026. Editorial pass. Mathematical statements, executable source bytes and the next research target are unchanged.

Scope and repairs

The pass covers the current guide, the public foundations overview, constructions 75–77, the overlap-access note, assessments 222–226 and their five code readers.

  • Added successor navigation to the scan, independent-store and overlap-access notes. Each link preserves the earlier result’s restrictions instead of implying that a later construction solves every earlier question.
  • Linked construction 77 directly to the current investigation guide. Marked assessment 224’s latest-result status as historical, preserving its unsuccessful-attempt classification.
  • Divided the overview into the current shared-target mechanism, the two independent-store contracts, the overlap frontier and retained local mechanisms. Clarified that construction 75 supplies construction 76’s local stores; the full-row construction 77 has a different contract.
  • Moved the primary comparison’s no-new-recognizer qualification beside that comparison, so it cannot be mistaken for a withdrawal of construction 77.
  • Replaced the overview’s stale current-target sentence with the shared-foreign-predicate target and repaired missing spaces in the latest checkpoint’s construction and editorial labels.

Existing routes, mathematical anchors, publication order and homepage research date are preserved. No numbered paper or PDF edition is changed.

Readings and executable evidence

Research reading Readable source
Scanned omissions, construction 75 Scan and omission audit
Independent stores, construction 76 Join and query audit
Owner preparation and late-access obstruction Owner-directory audit
Fractional cascading and the graph test Graph-activation audit
Routed owner and bounded scatter, construction 77 Mixed-interface audit

Research readings use styled HTML and KaTeX. Each source page is generated from the maintained original, with highlighted code, line anchors and an explicit exact-byte download. The pass also checks their reading links and fragment destinations. There are no new hand-maintained copies of proofs or code.

Verification and remaining scope

Rendered text, headings, equations, links and code readers are inspected after building. The integration receipt records actual scoped results and publication parity. The existing full-suite failures are retained; unrelated mathematical and compiler tests are not rerun for these editorial changes.

Browser viewport inspection is unavailable under the supported Sites workflow. Responsive layout and clipping remain unverified; HTML inspection is not a browser layout review.

Preserved mathematical next target

Keep actual primary-owner prefixes and common store service width, but remove bounded foreign scatter. Start with two owners per target and full rows. Construct input-built shared foreign predicates with paid persistent activation and final-symbol readout, charging preparation, routing and replay. Arbitrary-name owner routing and heterogeneous service windows remain separate frontiers.

Scheduled completion advances from 131 to 132 once for editorial work only. Mathematical count 140, window zero, reassessment 140 and native construction 77 are unchanged. The last primary review remains 225. Next is research completion 133, primary review 135 and editorial 138. All earlier SAT/scaffold results and frontiers remain intact. Installed legacy-writer retirement is a separate, unverified follow-up.
